A family dental practice in Charleston

Two dentists, one practice

Harbor View is a family practice on the South Carolina coast. Dr. Marcus Bell and Dr. Lena Ortiz see children from age two, their parents and their grandparents, and everyone is treated in the same rooms by a dentist who knows the family.

A first visit is mostly a conversation. We look at the teeth, take any x-rays we need, and tell you what we see, what we would do next and what can safely wait.

Early mornings and Saturdays are for families who cannot come in during the working week. Call (843) 555-0137 and we will find a time that fits.

Why families choose Harbor View

A small practice with two dentists, a hygienist and a front desk that knows your name.

Two dentists, one practice

Dr. Marcus Bell and Dr. Lena Ortiz both work at the chair every week, so you see a dentist who knows your history.

Meet the dentists

Children from age two

A child's first visit starts at age two and moves at their pace: a look, a count, and a ride up and down in the chair.

Children's visits

Sealants and fluoride

Where they will help, sealants and fluoride go on during the check-up, so a small tooth does not become a bigger problem.

How it works

Early mornings and Saturdays

We keep the earliest slots and the Saturday list for parents who would otherwise have to take a day off work.

Call the practice

Nervous patients welcome

Say so when you book and we will take it slowly, explain each step before we start, and stop whenever you want a break.

What to expect

A plan you understand

You leave knowing what we found, what we would do about it and which treatment, if any, needs doing first.

A full range of dental care

The six things we do most weeks, for children and adults alike.

Children's dentistry

First visits from age two, then check-ups as they grow. We count teeth, show them how the chair moves and keep the appointment short when it needs to be.

Before your first visit

The three things people ask us most often on the phone.

My child is two. What happens at the first visit?

A short appointment. We look at the teeth, count them, and let your child get used to the chair. Nothing is forced and nothing is done without telling them first.

It has been years since I saw a dentist.

Come in anyway. We start with a look and a clean, then talk about what needs doing and in what order. You will not be lectured about the gap.

Can the whole family be seen together?

Yes. Both dentists treat children and adults, so ask when you book and we will put your appointments next to each other.

Make an appointment

Call the practice on (843) 555-0137 or send us an email, and we will find an early morning, a daytime slot or a Saturday that suits your family.
